Shrewsbury Flower Show

Today we all went to the Shrewsbury Flower Show - an annual feature of our diary. Great weather, lots to see and do, and plenty to buy. Amongst other things we bought a new watercolour from Tony Cowlishaw of English Watercolours. We commissioned Tony to paint The Dingle - and we love the results.

Apart from the art and flora I found (as so often is the case) something military to amuse me. We saw a good display from The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (PWRR) Parachute Display team - though why an infantry regiment has a parachute display team was not explained!

The Royal Signals White Helmets also did their motorcycle thing. 30 riders on British bikes, and no slip-ups.

For those who are interested I have a web page with lots of Military Stuff on it - most significantly info on the origins of all of the current Regiments, plus a good amount of Military Etymology.
